There are those of us who drive trucks because we have a passion for it.
And your argument blissfully ignores the fact that new drivers who are drawn into the traps megas set will have little no voice when they are exploited.Bean Jr., Toomanybikes and Rusty Trawler Thank this. -
It's not a "free market" when you need to use government to force your bad business decisions onto your competition in order to "level the playing field" so you can remain competitive.Bean Jr., Toomanybikes, Rusty Trawler and 1 other person Thank this.

By all means, enlighten us on economic theory, it's application, and result.
I especially want to hear how the formation of cartels will not marginalize the individual - as you so naively persist.
I love free comedy. -
This is an excellent point.
As Rustytrawler stated earlier, the megas' highly questionable hiring practice of putting meat in the seat at ANY cost results in a higher accident rate. This, in turn, causes the feds to step in and micromanage many facets of the industry.dunchues, Bean Jr. and Rusty Trawler Thank this. -
Was going to say the same thing but the OP looked like he was getting testy at the diversion of topic.
Also, all you free marketeers don't forget all the government subsidies the Mega milk on a daily basis.
And then you got laws like FLSA that exempt truck drivers from competing in the labor market force like other employees.
Nor the fact they are among the biggest lobbying groups in capital hill.
Then of course you got the issues of wage theft, false advertising, and black listing.Pedigreed Bulldog, dunchues, EatYourVeggies and 2 others Thank this. -
If you have some reading material on this I'd love to read up on it. (Not saying anything against you or disagreeing but you have genuinely peaked my intrest)
