    Yeah I can agree with you there, the first antenna I had was a skipshooter,was just to small to tune think I might look into getting a 5.5ft one.

    Yeah you NEVER wanna go shorter(thats what she said)..Swr has nothing to do with radiated power..Its nothing more than a way to measure reflected power...So dont think your gettin out good if swr is low..You may just be doin deciently but one has little to nothing to do with range/power getting out across the miles..

    it will work great if you remove the two bolts that are connected to the flat metal plate and separate the shaft from the metal plate but then you need to figure out how you were going to attached the super long shaft to the truck without shorting it out to the ground

    I dont know rabbi..I got a gut feelin bud..I got a lil tax $ back so i said eff it..Trial and error i guess..Better than wasteing it on drugs and hookers..lol

    Just run the 7. If I don't hit other trucks with a 102, you're definitely not going to hit anyone with the big firestik.

    my gut feeling is that if you leave the two bolts attached to the metal plate that your radio will explode the second that you key the microphone with the antenna shorted directly to the Mirror

    Its the same freakin way it worked before..Just that the ground and feed point were to far apart..

    Nope...the pole will be part of the antenna the way typy explained it in your video. If you DC ground your antenna itself...you're gonna have a bad time.
