I have my tanker so that's not a big deal.. I've spent the last 5 years pulling a liquid tanker.

For me the phone interview was mostly asking why I decided to quit all my previous jobs then she asked me what I liked to do on my time off(odd question to be honest). Once I answered those she asked if I could come in next Monday for an interview. I told her absolutely and she told she would call back later that day. Three hours later she called to tell me to come in at 12:30 to do some testing then I'd have an interview at 1:30, 2:00, and 230. I ask here's about my physical and she said that will happen at the end of the hiring process if they decide to offer me a job. She was really vague on the testing part other than telling me a basic math test and dot test. I'm assuming general knowledge type questions. Said nothing about doing a agility test, driving test or pre trip inspection. I'm really hoping they like me and offer me something. I'm ready to get active again since I've gain about 100 pounds since I started driving. Plus benefits seem to be fantastic from what I hear.

    61 years seasoned citizen.
10 year w. CDL & no blemishes. Recently down sized out of my Water Operator position as the Utility they no longer could ' afford " my salary.
DOT opening a new DC here in Bullhead City, Az . Appears to be a GODSEND for my family.
Have had two initial interviews so far this week. Awaiting a third .
We have been informed that a three wk. orientation period awaits in Modesto, then a shakedown period with a mentor / trainer that gets me back into Safe ops the DOT way ...
Do companies still hire 60ish fellas with great a contentious work ethic , honest , non drinkers, non smoker ?
Boy we sure pray so, as there are NOT ANY quality employment opportunities here along the river ..I don't work in Casinos and the wife is retired .
I will take the trainer ride along and will be up to speed in no time flat..No Worries .

I guess each D.C. Does things different. They are making me do all three at once instead of spread out like most. Maybe because I live about an hour away.
