I've read this thread from page 1 and have been looking at there regional side in california. Seems like you had a good experience to date! About time somebody writes something that doesn't sound like a 1st grader's temper tantrum review about a trucking company lol.

Really makes me look hard at them. Seems they've turned it around

Guys I'm sitting at Tropicana in City of Industry California right now and my paid miles for the week are 3,800 even and I should still get a dead head to Tulare before Monday night cutoff. I had Baltimore to Strasburg Virginia, there to Caldwell Idaho, there to Prosser Washington, there to Grandview Washington, and then from there to down here. This is my highest paid week yet. With a dead head to Tulare it should bring me to 3,970 or somewhere in that range. Even with a 6 hour wait in Grandview Washington and a 4 hour wash wait in Prosser. For those who say IRT doesn't have miles and the wait time keeps you from making money I disagree. If you want to work, they will work you.

IRT only takes care of their favorites, most guys will experience 350 mile milk runs, that take 6 or more hrs to unload because the locals go first.
You will have a very nice truck though, some of the trailers are old, and everyone was pretty laid back in dispatch. Most appt times were show up when you get their , they have a few that are set.
I was with them 2 years long runs like this guy is getting back to back is very rare. -
Dead headed from City of Industry CA to Tulare just like I figured yesterday. That puts my weekly cutoff paid miles at 3,989 for this week. I'm loading in Visalia right now to go to Irving TX. Nice 1,512 mile run to start the week off with. I visited with a guy who's been here 2 weeks yesterday at Tropicana. He was at 3,400 miles for the week. A guy that I brought over here with me from my previous company runs 6 loads a week from Hartley TX to Hutchinson KS which is 630 miles per turn X 6 per week. I think some guys might cry about loading and unloading time, act as if the world owes them something, and find every negative thing they can to broadcast while leaving out all of the positives. I imagine those guys get fed the bad runs. I do my job and take the good with the bad. No matter where you go there will always be negative people who hate to see others succeed and happy. I would rather be encouraging than discouraging.

When your sitting at Johanna juice in jersey waiting for a trl to be washed out, and another driver whips in and says that's my trl call dispatch, An dispatch tells you wait for the next one that's not crying that's favoritism

I could reverse that and ask "So just because you had a bad experience means that it will be sour for others?" But I don't want to be argumentative. It's not a perfect world and a person can find a flaw in any job in life. There's no shame in doing something else if you're unhappy. I don't fault you for that. I like IRT and have a good experience here.
I've left jobs in the past that I was unhappy at. I'm sure if I ran into some of their current employees today who were happy and tried to poison them with negative info and take the wind out of their sail they would probably have a difference of opinion with my view too. Sorry to hear you were unhappy working here for 2 years.nextgentrucker, tommymonza, newshoes and 2 others Thank this. -
If dispatch had another driver take my trailer like that I would just assume that they had a legitimate reason. Maybe they have a load that needs covered that could cost them a customer. Maybe the driver taking my trailer has more available hours than me. Maybe he has a family emergency and my trailer gets him home quicker. There's so many variables I would be unaware of since I'm not working in the office I would keep an open mind and just assume they know something I don't.
