No triples in MS.x1Heavy, Getsinyourblood and JReding Thank this.
-
LTLS also have local delivery guys that use day cabs and usually 48 foot trailers....
-
Craigslist.

Yeah like someone said. Look into aggregate work. Driving though the sand all day is pretty fun too. lol I go to a lot of mines for my job. I dump def out of a tanker for their machinery.
Those jobs don't look bad at all. Front end loader fills you up, you drive somewhere else and dump it. If you have an auto tarp you never even get out of your truck. -
As @noluck said, no triples in MS.
A lot of people are uncomfortable with the idea of doubles until they actually pull them for awhile. My understanding is that we on the west coast pull sets as part of P&D much more than any other part of the country; everyone else seems to make much more use of 48's, I assume that's the case in your part of the world. In LTL, you can look either for a linehaul position (typically nights, and mileage pay) or P&D (daytime, hourly). I spent 18 years doing P&D, it provided a decent living for my family.
(Oh...and it kept me in shape. Since I've changed jobs, I've gained 30+ pounds!) -
Ive got one ltl here in meridian. Its aaa cooper. Ive also looked at waste management and we have a few concrete companies here
-
Check companies in your local industrial parks, some companies have their own trucks that move product between plants and do regional runs.

I work at NAS Meridian we get deliveries from AAA Cooper, Sias, R+L, Estes, and FedEx daily. All of them are day cabs. I know some of the loads are picking up and delivering haz-mat. I know I'm probably leaving a few of them out. I'll try to pay a little more attention this week and let you know who else I see.
There is also an Averitt terminal over behind the Pilot. I have a couple of friends that work there. One is on a dedicated going to the Nissan plant in Canton and the other runs to the Mercedes plant in Tuscaloosa. Both of them did the course at MCC.Last edited: Apr 23, 2017
