Best of luck to you. It will be a lot better when you get your own truck as you already know.
I never got the chance to see my wife at all during training. Let me tell you it was trying.
Even though I think I had one of the best trainers at Millis I still think it would have been better for a new hire to get a break. If only for a reset.

I basically drove straight through without hometime as well during my training, but they did route me home once I got my own truck. I wondered if that was a regular experience.OnTheLevel357 and Old - School Thank this.
-
Yes when you get your own truck they alway route you home so you can pick up your stuff. Even experienced guys are asked if they want to be routed home after orientation to pick up their stuff.OnTheLevel357 Thanks this.
-
Yeah this is what I'm hoping for, training in Eden on may 1st, then 15k with trainer, get my own truck and hopefully home.SHOJim Thanks this.

Ya i got lucky and had a trainer that went home every 2 weeks. I really think that helped during training. Staying our 5 to 6 weeks with my trainer probably would've led to problems lol. Being able to get away, see family, and not be in the truck for 2 or 3 days was needed
Suspect Zero and OnTheLevel357 Thank this. -
two guys on a truck together for more than 2 weeks and tensions start to get highJOHNQPUBLIC and OnTheLevel357 Thank this.

Isn't that the truth. I don't see how people that work for companies that team do it without an excessive murder rate.JOHNQPUBLIC and OnTheLevel357 Thank this.

Yup especially on that old Millis trainee pay scale. Had to drive at least 4 hours to get paid for the day, and was only getting $72 a day or something like that. These trainees making mileage pay really don't understand how good they have it now. After paying my child support during training i was bringing home like $150 lol. Trainer seen my bring home pay of $88 one week and started understanding why i was in such a hurry to get my own truck lolJOHNQPUBLIC, OnTheLevel357 and Suspect Zero Thank this.

####, that hurts, the few bucks you did have left after probably barely covered your daily needs while out, if not falling short.

Nope i was eating pb and j and lunch meat sandwiches thru the week. Then on wkend my trainer would grill us steaks, chops, burgers etc. I got lucky with my trainer lol.
