    As is the 447HPC2 (mine actually swings 80), which works just fine with the original power cord hooked to a 15A cig-lighter plug.

    Like he does basic repairs. Hes a fine tune expert don't ya know. All the real techs and there aren't many are backed up 2/3 weeks doing actual repair work.Their too busy to just open a radio up and drop your deadkey/carrier lower the total wattage your radio should actually do.and drop your noise floor all for a modest $175. And yes let's not forget that shipping cost ya mentioned.. yeah for that kind of $$$$ he can just about buy a new radio....

    I've never had a problem with 8ga wire, especially for a 200 watt radio. I run my 1x2 in my car on 8ga and it does everything it's supposed to do.

    The 1x2 in my mobile is an old driver box. I've had big power in the past. I started down sizing a few years ago. The biggest thing I have left is a 12 pill.

    To each his own always it's your $$$ or my $$$ being spent. I run one of two big power radios and a 8 pill. No need for anything bigger in a trk. Talked to a guy who wanted to put a 16 pill in his trk. A upgrade from his 8 pill. I told him good luck with that.... he talks on the superbowl all the time.....

    I ran a 16 pill in a big truck. Ran a 320a Leece large case alternator and added 3 more group 31 batteries. Worked great, That was back during the beginning of the last cycle peak. Also had 3 alt suburban with a 32 pill back in the day. But now I just like to talk local, and work some skip when I get the chance. I'm moving more into the Hi-Fi side of the hobby and out of the high power comp stuff.

    Your choice I'll only let my $$$ go so deep into this hobby. I'm not interested in the ham/mobile side of this hobby im a truck driver and I'll probably be doing it another 10 years God willing.
