Picked up a load like that because they unload it from a standard dock. It was supposed to go in a van but someone slipped up and ordered flats...
I wish there was a van getting loaded so I could look at how they secured it. Maybe not knowing is better.

Build a bullhead with your long lumber at rhe front. Racks under the first and last, although most shippers will have lumber to rack all of them (recommended). Do the short lumber at a 45 degree angle inside the first and last (leaving enough lumber out to wrap a strap around and pull the tops in towards center). Strap over as according to FMCSA regs, tarp, and boogie!
Pulled quite a few 'slinky' loads, I got that stuff down!
Just be ready to stop frequently to tighten straps. Slinkies settle fast and everything loosens in a hurry.Mr biggs Thanks this. -

They're not much fun suicide either. They can lean to the side also. At least shotgun they're not hanging over the side of the trailer! Lol l know guys that double stack them suicide all the time. I'll leave those loads to them. Too many straps for me!
DDlighttruck and cke Thank this.
