What would we know we are only beginners....Bean Jr. Thanks this.

That works only in theory or when you have less than 15k lbs in the box or of course on flat terrain. I am driving a Volvo I-Shift without predictive cruise control. At 1k rpms on an incline it will eventually downshift but after raising the water temp for a good five or six seconds. I can predict the situation faster and just downshift before it reaches that point.

Despite all the clicks you have, you technically are here!
Could you imagine trying to get one of your road trains rolling that way? -
Wouldn't happen. You would twist the drive shaft or drop the box on the ground...
Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Sounds like drivers are worried about letting the engine pull in low RPMs and the water temp getting warm.

I've read this 3 times, and honestly, I'm speechless. This is terrible for the truck. Please don't do this
-
Really, it's not like it's hopping or anything.

The diff. Is your left leg and right arm are never worn out. That's the only real diff. Autos pull just as good as manuels. You have to watch your sensors tho. If your backing and it stops? Don't keep pressing harder, till you lunge back 10 feet. Just pull forward a little to reset them. Also don't jump out there to the floor expected to beat somebody from a light or side street. It will hesitate 2 seconds and then go. Lol.

Starting a truck in 6th gear? Sure it is. Unless you're hitting the accelerator as it gets going - which isn't good either.Bean Jr. Thanks this.
