LS would pay your cargo ins if you are leased to them.

Yeppers, LS will pay you Cargo Ins.

I paid $1650 for my plates and $210 for my permits.

They can take weekly deductions if you want.

I pay $18.99 for Bobtail and $35.00 for Workers and $2.50 for Pre-Pass.

Workers Comp varies for the state that you live in and of course Bobtail depends on what you drive.

    Hope that helps.

Chir I take it that you got your own plates?

Because just a few yrs ago IL IRP plates thru LS was $1850..... I thought :biggrin_25525: but it seems as if memory is the first to go, and its been going since I was 15.

Thanks for the numbers! I'm actually paying a little more for plates, insurance, etc. I'm hoping to apply with landstar at the beginning of the year.

It can take up to 2 months to get approved. If you wanna make the move first of the yr I would get the application in within a few weeks.

Well, $1650 plus the Permits is about $1850.

    I use Landstars Plates.

    No worries!

You might want to wait until after the new year. Freight has slowed down and is already paying the winter rates.
If you aren’t real familiar with Landstars system it could be a lean winter for you. Don’t get me wrong I’m not trying to discourage you but it’s a lot easier to learn the system when there is freight a plenty.

    Right, right.

Took me two months to get on. But I was with 5 different companies before I applied with Landstar.

I had a friend get on and he had the same job and lived in the same house for over ten years.
He got on and was in orientation within two weeks.

Hey now this is a conversation I want to get into! I too am applying with Landstar! I already have a 2001 Intl 9400i Tractor with over 11 years experience I have been driving recently for a small 4 truck company doing regional work around 3 states. I was contacted by them today and am waiting to see how they follow through with their hiring process. I have no DWI/DUI's and NO accidents, preventable or non-preventable since the end of 1997. I am hoping to get hired but sometimes it seems like the process is ridiculously long to get through. Maybe I am impatient :biggrin_25511:?

Anyway any helpful suggestions, comments, ect etc will be helpful, oh I hope you get your truck, I am sure enjoying mine for sure!
Take care and be safe out there
