I have found a few companies after driving around town and talking to some different people i know in various businesses. Ive narrowed it down to a concrete mixer, apac which hauls everything from asphalt to rocks. Also waste management and a paper/restaurant supply company. They all pay decent and are home everyday. But now it brings some questions

Long hours in peak seasons, possible layoffs in slow seasons, better hope for a truck that has air conditioning, or keep a cooler stocked with ice and water. Constantly dirty

The slow season is the part that kind of scares me. I know during the fall and winter work for both types of trucks slow way down

That's why I won't go do a mixer or dump in my home areas. They pay well, but all of them lay off in December to March. Maybe when I'm done with otr I'll get a job doing that and then a winter job driving a plow for the state

Im in Mississippi so we don't exactly have jobs like that with the state. But i have alot of logging companies that run year round. Ill contact the mixer company and see if they have slow periods
