Positive way of looking at things. True you can also cover some sweet senior driver runs when they go on vacation. Also you learn the routes this way so if you can bid on one you know what's it about and pay.
Starting at Mclane on Monday!!!

Food service is GREAT money. Expect around 60k+ your first year. 100k is possible with overtime. Great exercise and giant forearms. Great job security to.
The only negative is that later down in your life, you might have problems with health and unloading heavy freight. -
As long as you take care of your body you should be ok. I still get nagging aches and pains every now and then but enjoy the physical side of the job, Keeps me in great shape

The grass is always greener on the other side. When I had a local route, loading and unloading the truck by myself, I always envied the OTR guys who just had to drive, drop, and hook. When I went OTR I started getting flabby and wanted some exercise. I split the difference and went flatbed. Working for a moving company is another option. It pays well also, at least in the summer.

I been at mclane for 3 months already and I love it . Its hard work but the money is good. The beer company I worked for kicked my ### and the pay wasn't that good . Coming to mclane it's a walk in the park .
Mike2633, qbertsrevenge and Mpeng98 Thank this. -
Do you work 4 days on 3 days off? -
Yea it is if you have a route. But since I'm a relief driver they need me on my days off all the time . -
