And why start your clock so early? Plus if you get there (or near there) just put yourself in the sleeper for 8. By the time they finish you will be good to go.
Can this be done on time

Also depends if you are on elogs.
-
Why is that?
-
Elogs just means he needs to park close enough to creep to the reciever or at the reciever
-
Elog? Go to closest truck stop or area in same city you can take 10 hour break at. Use personal conveyance to go to delivery. Do your business. Pc again back to same spot. Pray to God you don't get stopped. Inspection later? Don't open your mouth and tell him the bills were mailed back to your carrier. Prove me guilty...
snowwy, Dave_in_AZ and Nostalgic Thank this. -
If its a small company.....PC is a great thing....alot of big companies don't allow any PC
-
Wouldn't worry too much about it. It's a live load, so they probably won't get you outta there in time to make your appt.
Bo Hunt Thanks this. -
Then big company can call and say that 400 mile load needs rescheduled for more time on delivery....
And before all the holier than thou get on me for this.... how is it any different from creeping at slow speed into the place? On duty is on duty. We would both be considered cheaters if it came down to it.Cat sdp and BoostedTeg Thank this. -
I really like that pc idea.....how do log that on a qualcomm tho
-
I guess the company would have to allow it. As an independent I am the company and the driver.... so I guess I can set it up how I want. Am I playing with fire? Perhaps. Do I need to run all my loads like this? Absolutely not. It is the unavoidable unplannable stuff where we need the wiggle room.
Example.
Today. Appt is 11. I had 14 hours off last night started late to make my appt. I arrive 1030, perfect. Most of the time they are 3 hours. Today they didn't start until 3 hours past my appt time. Short on workers I guess. I will run out of hours while here and I may not stay on the property. I am in Canada and here we are not allowed to pull even an empty trailer and claim pc. What exactly am I supposed to do? The nearest parking option is about 8 miles away and I must travel a 100km/h road to get there. Trucks are not allowed on the back roads to get there because there is a river to cross with like 3 ton bridges. Must use big road. How do I solve this problem? Anyone? I will not get an 8 hour stay here. Most likely 6. I run out of hours after 5. How am I not screwed if I don't and screwed if I do?
