Manuel mode will force the upshift if you hold high rpms long enough l. Then you got companies that disable manual mode all together.

Okay... here is the thing.. I am a recruiter/ staffing agent..
Trucking is an industry where majority of drivers either fail or flake and do not go on to have successful careers in the industry.
Every day that you go unemployed, while good for building your skryim skills is not good for helping you to be more hireable...
I understand not wanting to just go with any carrier.. but, I also think one should not be too picky until they have built up their experience and work history enough to make them a good candidate for a good company...Suspect Zero, SHOJim, Ryan423 and 2 others Thank this. -

There is nothing unsafe about an auto but hearing you spew nonsense has made this very enjoyable.

I drove an auto for awhile and didn't like it. I found it to be dicey in winter conditions due to the unpredictable shift points and the propensity to over-rev when downshifting into too low of a gear. This was a couple of years ago and they werent quite as good as they have gotten over the last couple of years.
That said, a professional driver will adapt and drive the truck, not let the truck drive him. Once I adapted my driving style to the indiosyncracies of the auto, instead of insisting the truck confirm to my preferred driving style, no issues whatsoever. I only had to stay in it long enough to find a better employer because, with an outstanding and spotless record, I could.
You're being too #### picky for someone who at this point really doesn't have a leg to stand on and better be thankful for anything you can get. You should avail yourself of the advice you've been getting from drivers with more miles driving in reverse than you have forward ( and in autos as well I know a few of them ) and suck it up and do whatever you have to do to get a couple of safe years in the seat, in an auto if necessary, and then you can be picky enough to write your own ticket and do what you want in the equipment you want
The best advice you've gotten so far is to try and get back in with swift and get that deal straightened out but you're so ####sure overestimating your own ability and self worth that you think you're in s position to pick and choose. I know you didn't like Swift but have you thought about Swift flatbed. Supposedly that division is a lot different than regular Swift.
