    Nailed it. Food service isn't a hard job to do , it's physical without a doubt , but , work like you've got just a little horse sense and its one of the highest paying , most rewarding , not to mention the job with the best work schedules around.

    When I retired I was earning just a bit above 72k a year. I was working a 3 day week , Monday , Tuesday , Thursday , for a total of around 32 to 36 hours ( on a long week ).

    Sure I fingerprinted a ton of product , but now that I'm 70 , I'm hunting with guys half my age , and they are in total awe of the pace I'm able to go at.

    The guys who have knee ( jumping down out of trailers , instead of climbing down ) trouble in their 40's , or have back trouble ( from trying to impress the boss ) are only hurting themselves. " work smarter , not harder " is / was my motto.

    I think they are going to keep the lift gates cause mclane just bought about 6 new trailers with liftgates . I would hate to go down a ramp with that pollo loco chicken . Each box weights 90 pounds. I can only put 5 on my hand truck and roll it in . Now imagine flying down a ramp with it ! No way dude !!!

    It's been 3 weeks now, all I can say is #### FS!!!! FS guys deserves the highest respect, all I can say is it's intense, I am constantly lifting boxes, push hand carts into store for hours straight. No short cuts, no freebies.
    My arms hurts so bad, and a lot of bruises.
    I don't know how much longer I can last.

    Trust me we all had doubts at first but you'll be ok just hang in there, it's always a little rough at first but once you get the route down and learn everything it will be much easier.

    AT the 3 month mark it gets MUCH easier. Its' like a switch is flipped. You know the product you know how the stores are set up you know how the warehouse generally puts thing together, you have been to at least some of the stores and know where you are going. It gets MUCH easier and you get a lot more efficient.

    Make it 3 months and you'll see.

    @Mike2633 will attest to this

    But yeah, food service pays bank, but you EARN every penny of it.

    Tonythetruckerdude and Mike2633 Thank this.

    Cmon man, suck it up. You're only in your 20's. You've got guys 3 times your age doing it. Then they go home and work on their houses and play with their kids/ grandkids, and still find time to keep the woman happy.

    You got this!!! Give it some more time. It gets easier. Don't give up yet!!! You can do it!!!

    truck_guy, LoneCowboy and Mike2633 Thank this.
