Been looking through montana to see these camera that take pictures of you as you go through the scale....the cameras look to be placed as you are slowing down before you reach the scale....but if the scale is closed and you dont enter it...how does it get your picture? Just curious lol

Well, techically if you are out in public and someone videoed you driving a rig or something and uploaded it, it is possible to apply facial arthogram to that video and discover where you have been when you were recorded.

Im less concerned with picture taking. There is nothing in my life that makes me worried for pictures. What I don't want is for them to take a picture of that big bag of dirty laundry in the pax seat ready to be washed lol.

It takes your pic just like the washington scales do. Regardless of open of closed. You drive up the 82 across the state line. And the night lights right up. Even if they're closed. I've been tempted to give them the middle finger salute as i drive by when they first put the camera out there.
Utah does the same thing. Although i'm not sure if they're still working or not. Been months since i seen the flash.

I am not sure about MT or cameras on scale house but i can tell you about CO POE from 1st hand experience.

POE was closed at night, no need to pull in. Drove at highway speed.

next day had a level 3 at a scale house. They called in for a printout.

Waited about 10 mins for them to receive a fax of printouts of POE crossing and it had a time stamp of my truck from the night before.

I dont recall seeing the night light up as snowwy mentioned, must be hitech infared

Dunno about Montana, but the super coup in Oklahoma on 40 dang sure does. Went by there at night west bound and it was closed...........FLASH / FLASH !!!!!

Was looking around, Holy Jesus, Mary & Joseph did I blow that scale? I know it said closed. Looks closed.
Later somebody told me they photo everyone.

They have UAV's with infared cameras monitor truck traffic. I don't travel there anymore but when i do then i just stick a piece of tin foil on the window on my cab roof so they can't see me

in a bind just stick a small piece of tin foil on a hat.
