There's an aluminum Manac parked next to me so I had to check it out. The trailer beam is riveted to its flanges so I can see why you wouldn't want a lot of side pull. IMG_1237.JPG

The few Manac's I've pulled have all been garbage trailers. They just seem like a step down in terms of quality from MAC, East or Wilson.

I try not to do it on the lowboy, if I can help it. This is after dragging a high spot in the road and ruining a couple of chains.

It was pure laziness on my part. I knew it was going to be close, instead of getting out and raising the neck, I chanced it and lost.

I have since added a few more D rings as to not have to go to the frame.

Are you hooking to the underside of the side rails on your lowboy @m16ty?? I'm one of those guys that hook into the top flange everyday but I wouldn't dream of hooking around the bottom for the very reason you mentioned.

passingthru69, Logan76, cke and 3 others Thank this.

I need to get some blocks welded to the underside of my flanges so I can do that.

No D rings so I have to run a piece of chain down through the triangles on the side usually.

I usually just use the outrigger brackets for stops but I've hooked into the lightening holes in the web as well.
