I worked for Coke as a route driver with a side bay and as a sales/merchandiser in High School and after I graduated. After a couple of years I went with Pepsi as a merchandiser until I pursued my career in Law Enforcement and man did I take a pay cut.

There is definitely money to be made in this line of work. Since... Well... The job is never done! And both companies will spend whatever money they can to be leading the way in every account.

Sometimes working 60+ hours non stop wears on you!

    My hiring experience.
Of course firstly watched online video and took personality test.
Sept. 13 interview, this consisted of a hands on observed test of loading Gatorade into a small display cooler. The only trick was the names were odd, like the the frosts, glaciers etc and they could have been easy to confuse. I was pretty basic though if you just took your time and paid attention.

This was followed by a 15 or 20 min interview. Basic questions like why you want job, what have you done in past employment when you saw someone do something wrong such as steal? etc. How have you handled difficult situations and made a positive? How have you dealt with a difficult person?

At end of interview I told interviewer I had two more Pepsi interviews scheduled in another city a couple days later. He said he could only tell me that "I interviewed well" as he had more interviews to do and was looking towards end of week for a decision, this was Tuesday. I told him I would prefer to work at his location, but would have to go to the other interviews which were a couple days out.

At about 5pm MGR. phoned and said I would be getting a formal offer via email but he wanted to let me know personally that I didn't have to go to other interviews because I had this job.

About a week later I was sent for drug test and physical. I then went another week without hearing anything and then an update showed up in my email to fill out my DOT Qualification file. I did this and two days later I received an email stating I had completed the hiring process and to await a call for a start date.

Also got an email with a link to purchase footwear.

The next step is orientation in two weeks.

A little update. Phoned with a start date for orientation. Orientation will be two days in length, also took sizes for uniforms. Shortly afterward I received an email from CARCO with a whole bunch of paperwork to fill out. Benefits, right to work information, etc.

Great thread. I've got a second face to face interview with Pepsi this week for a class A relief driver. A little nervous because I've been out of driving for about 9 years.

If you can get into the relief driving I would highly recommend. The D bay position is just an entry level job, no future there you have to flip to another position within a couple years or so.
