You got an analog meter right with a DB scale on it?

you don't need to be accurate just see the differences.

You don't need to know what the output level is to come up with a simple t pad or l pad to attenuate the audio.

I personally prefer the SL41 and your mic compare to the 198, but then again someone with a different voice tone and that could change everything.

Also prefer without echo, but to each his own....

Interesting. For some reason, the echo was only noticeable on your mic, Rabbi. They're all pretty close, but I'm partial to the sound of the SL41, but maybe that's because that's what I have...lol.

This is a tough one. They all sound similar with the edge in clearity barely going to the SL41 but i think with better noise canceling the custom mic would be very close to the other two.

I do not have an analog meter anymore, unfortunately.
This might be useful at higher voltages.
Attenuator is unnecessary @ 1.5v though.

I do believe it's going to be hard to beat the performance of the Palomar Sl41 in a noisy tractor trailer. My next one I'm going to build with a switchable high pass filter and it's going to be for use in a four wheeler that's nice and quiet inside so I'll have the option of switching between studio quality audio and narrower banded audio for more efficient performance. Without some extensive cutting and grinding on the case I don't think I'm going to get the noise cancelling perfected until I get my hands on one of these.....

I came up with an innovative solution to reposition the element to fix the noise cancelling capability.
$0.75 @ Lowes and a little belt sanding made the perfect element holder.

looks like I'm all set for putting my next one together and this time the noise cancellation should be pretty good.

As soon as the epoxy hardens, I can peel out the retaining wall and start connecting wires.

I just got it finished with the switchable high pass filter...
