Im sure this question has been asked here a time or two, but I couldnt find anything recent. Im interested in a SNI Dollar General dedicated route, but wonder how does the pay go exactly, and what to expect. I believe the lady told me 30 bucks for each stop after the first, but how many stops on a average day? Also its 95 for each trailer unloaded, but how many unloaded in a week? I was a bit nervous to ask these questions, since I'm just trying to get my foot in the door, and I have been out of a truck since 2008, so I dont have many options as of now.

Anyone who has done this account, or have been close with someone who has done this account I would appreciate all advice and opinions. I know I won't get rich doing this, but I want to be able to at least get by until I get more current experience under my belt.

As a former DG Manager, the trucks that went to my store generally had 3 to 4 stops per load. The DC in Mississippi that handled my store in Louisiana was notorious for sending out overweight trucks, forcing them to return to get reworked. The loads are usually quite heavy, so be sure to scale. Also, if you ask nicely and it is getting late you may possibly be allowed to sleep at a store, but depends on manager.

    No idea on pay. Sorry.

They generally left the DC and returned next day. So between 3 and 5 would be my guess, because closer runs can get you back that night.

If you want to throw freight go foodservice. More time at home, and much higher pay.

That varies by state. For dollar general in California, It's .365 cents per mile and $14 on duty not driving.
