I'm Preacher or Preacher Man. I'm a second generation ordained Baptist minister. My handle was given to me by a fellow trucker named Curly. She knew me from back when we were both driving a school bus. I was called to pastor a small Baptist church and needed to be bi-vocational so I went to work for a local dump company driving frameless dumps and it turned out Curly was working there and gave me my handle. By the time I left the church and went back on the road more people knew me by my handle than by my real name.

I go by Touchngo now. I used to go by Pogostick because of the way I hop from city to city making my deliveries. Touchngo just fits better. My routes have several stops on them and it's best to get in and get out as quickly as possible, especially when I run Chicago area. Basically, it's back up to store, open door, yank off skids and get to my next stop. My days are usually 12 to 14 hrs so you need to be as efficient as possible.

My father died a few years ago. Dad was a O/O OTR. Most of his working life he drove his own trucks. In august I retired from Chrysler with 35 years seniority. I have always wanted to drive truck.......BIG trucks. When I do start driving I figure that dad will be riding with me riding shotgun. Trying to keep me out of trouble. DOTRA came from Dads On The Road Again. The guys that drove back then and knew dad always said that Wally could put a semi through the eye of a needle and not scratch it. His last truck had so many lights on it there was hardly room for the tires. Slightly modified exhaust. When he came into Minneapolis the waitresses could hear dad before they saw him, and his coffee would be on the table waiting for him when he walked through the door. And he used to give me hell for having dual glasspacks on my 57 Chevy.
