Your CPL # tells you if you can uprate the engine.

Where do i find my CPL#?
-
It should be on your Engine Tag which is located on the left side of your engine, riveted to the Air Compressor.ReneJRR Thanks this.

I have the same question.
I have an n14. Rated at 465hp 1650 torque
Cpl..2391
Ein...11916033
I'm going to in frame motor this year.
I see ceramic pistons. Teflon something else. Coated exhaust . Bigger turbo.
I'm not looking to race my truck.
I'm comfortable running around 65. What can I do to help fuel economy.
It's nice to pass when I want.
What brand rebuilt kit.
There really is a lot of options.
Thanks for your help. -
3 year's as I bumped my n14 to 525 and 1850. Better gas mileage faster up hills. Best engine I aver drove. 6.9 year around for 2017
xsetra Thanks this. -
You only had the ecm software updated to a higher the 525hp. Done by a dealer or Cummins.
Thanks -
CPL Plate on an Ni4 is located on drivers side, on accessory drive housing riveted. Gives the CPL# and the Overhead specs. Valve lash settings for the Intake and Exhaust. Gives the HP rating at a certain RPM. Usually can upgrade HP with a new flash of the ECM, alot require hard parts. I had a 460 HP N14 Celect Plus, to upgrade to 525 required reflash and an injector upgrade. Injectors are pretty pricey!! I didn't do it because of the price of the injectors.
You'll need the Serial Number off the CPL Plate also. Just call to cummins they can tell you what it will take, To upgrade
