What are you trying to install Kodi on? What you need to do is install a "build".

    https://kodiapps.com/builds-chart

That will have everything you need in it without having to pick and choose add ons. This is a good one:

    Install Kodi first from here:

    Thanks @wsyrob

I'll look into it this coming weekend off.

I think I have it installed with addons and what not but it don't seem to be working.

Course. I don't know if my new phone can do the miracast thing. It's a cheap bought outright. I haven't tried to YouTube or anything to the tv yet.

Kodi is just the app. Once you find the add-ons you can watch anything you want for free. Get a slimport adapter to connect your phone to your TV. Just make sure your phone is slimport compatible.

If you are thinking about one of the streaming live TV services, DirectTVnow will give you a free fire stick for prepaying for 1 month at $35. You can put Kodi on that.

Be aware that PlayStation Vue, and possibly others, has location restrictions. What I mean by this is that when you log into Vue from different zip codes Sony is watching and will likely lock you out of your service. I don't know if you should blame the channels for restrictive licensing, or Sony for not being clear, but it's not exactly a great option for OTR.

Yes some of the movies are straight up video camera footage from theatre, all the television shows I watch on it have all been in 720p.
