Another self driver truck thread again

I'm not worried quite yet. The truck can't unload 1100 tires out of the trailer YET. I'm sure the day is coming, but I'll enjoyed reading TTR while the truck drives me to my stops until then.

 

Can't see this happening , in my past I drove BNSF crews throughout the S.W. Division.Bakersfield-L.A.-San Bernardino we chatted about driverless trains/trucks...
This isn't gonna happen with any CFR regulated entity . There will be always be someone in the cab to make real life HUMAN decisions as needed/required.
At least not until we are Dust in The wind anyway.

 

if they don't have it already, sensors could be developed to recognize several other points as well as lines.

 

This car drove off like KITT in Night Rider.. Manuvered around in a 3 row parking lot full of parked cars. Found a spot and parked. All with out any assistance from anyone else.

Then came back to the front of the restaurant and picked us up.

The technology is here now. I dont think its going to even be 20 yrs. Had I not seen it with my own eyes.. there is no way I would believe a car could do that. I stood there speechless as I watched that car do its thing.

It might be 20 yrs before they figure out all the bueracracy and legalities. But the technology is here now.

I doubt there's anything to worry about legality wise it won't happen for a very long time.

 

Each crashes every 14 months . If we wrecked every 14 months how long would we be driving?

That info was from a talk radio show . But Google took .15 sec to find Google has had 2 accidents this month.

 

Nothing is perfect, one of the goals behind the technology is to get a few steps closer to what some believe is a better place, to eliminate some of the flaws in the now.

 

This would be awesome.....id be like....so officer.....whos fault is it....
