Swift hire then downgrade issue

    I was hired on by swift flatbed division for home depot deliveries in colorado. And had a couple of mistakes as far as delivery. No accidents....no written write ups. But now was informed I will be given the option for a different position thru home depot dc at less pay? What are my options as far as rights???

    Unless you signed a contract that specified your employment would be as you described you basically have no rights.
    If Swift wants to move you to another account they can.

    So ... to get to core. You were hired to do a job. You're less than effective at that job. Swift thinks enough of you to keep you around at job that is more fitting to your now appearent capabilities.

    Take it, prove your worth and work your way back. As far as "rights", there are no rights. You've proven less than capable at the job, they could fire you instead.

    ^^^ pretty much nailed it. like it or not op, you have to be grateful they didn't cut you loose. now you must redeem yourself. I'd say do your time, be a good employee, then get the hell out after a year.

    You lucky they didn't fired you, my experience with them is, once you sign on, they do with you as they please. Look what happened to me.
    Recently I was terminated by SWIFT, because of an DRIVE CAM event, where I was observed following to closely.
    On their fact sheet of their DriveCam program, under most frequently asked questions:

    Q "Is the DriveCam program intended to be punitive?"
    A "No. The DriveCam Program is not intended to be punitive."

    They fired me about 1500 miles from my home, they offered me a bus ticket to get home, but I had lots of stuff, so I rented a car, to get home, The whole action costed me about $2000,-
    Do I have a chance to get this money back if I take them to court?

    I am driving truck for 5 years, NO accidents, NO tickets.
    Also privately one ticket in last 25 years. never rear ended or hurt anyone.

    I got another job right away. To me it seems,
    Other companies policy, NO ACCIDENTS, NO TICKETS, YOU HIRED
    SWIFT policy, NO ACCIDENTS, NO TICKETS, but you don't drive how we tell you to drive, YOU FIRED!!!!

    Many times when I was driving I was thinking, that I be better of to have a contract with the devil, than with them.
