I've run the smaller loads at night for years where allowed...no issues. Even had someone drop a dime because I passed him with a pilot car. In Kentucky, 12'6 wide, rear beacons off, boogity boogity.
The big metro areas may make you run a night move with a superload. Elogs is definitely going to make that a pain. Will have to figure quite a few extra days on a job.
Where can I buy small portable amber strobes?

I think running oversize at night makes it easier. Less traffic, cooler temps, most scales are closed (at least where I run). I prefer the dark.not4hire, TripleSix, snowman_w900 and 3 others Thank this.

There's a company in town that has aluminum signs on their tractors, they fold the ends around when they're not in use and it has their company logo and name on it. It looks pretty good.Last edited: May 2, 2017
Razororange, MJ1657, DDlighttruck and 1 other person Thank this. -
Aren't local drivers exempt from ELOGs? If it's local, you'd just have to stay under 12 hours, which shouldn't be a problem at night.
Thanks for your input guys, Foxfire it is! -
In bc everything big moves at night. Kinda sucks somedays since you get to Alberta and it's daylight only so your switching back to running days. I actually really like running at night with the bigger stuff since there is less traffic and the scales are closed.not4hire, johndeere4020, TripleSix and 2 others Thank this.
