No, I was a Gunners mate on the Truman, cvn75. Hence the Gunner75 handle.
But #### near every Navy ship especially carriers have issues with sewage back upsFriday Thanks this. -
That's amazing to me. All that money for a ship and the sewer system can't even work properly. Much respect for our people in uniform for all the crap they have to deal with.MidwestResident, tony97905, BigTennOTR and 1 other person Thank this.

Even the best sewer systems in the world can't keep up with childish adults who will use an entire roll of paper to take one dumpBigTennOTR Thanks this.

Ships use salt water for flushing ... eventually it clogs. For the most part it wasn't an issue ... but the head in my berthing compartment was the closest enlisted head to the flight deck.
Just 3 urinals, during flight ops it would get used over 2000 times - yeah we put a 24 hour watch on it and logged it. Airdales didn't give a crap. Urinal over flowing, they just pissed on the deck. I think they all became truckers.
But the real nasty was the drinking water. Ships used to dump the contaminated jet fuel. Some engineer, in their infinite wisdom, put the intake for the fresh water distillery aft of the fuel dumps. So from time to time we got jet fuel in the fresh water.
