Question, I apologize if it's been asked

Just a question I can not find an answer to easily unless it's in that 900+ page behemoth of a thread but is it better to wait for an opening in the DC of preference or get into the system at any DC (assuming I have housing available with friends or family or whatever) and transfer to my preferred one?

I'm OTR now and live in the truck so I wouldn't really be relocating, more locating. My current "home" is a relative's mailing address so I'm thinking a year somewhere wouldn't be too bad if it makes the end game easier. Does Wal-Mart only run regional/local and leave the OTR stuff to the third party companies?

 

That doesn't seem too bad unless the other guys have Seinfeld level body odor they are leaving behind. A backpack with the neccessities should do it for me with a few days clothing if I'm out running the road. I'm on E-Logs now and have been since day one. 60-65 is about what I do now with the rare week I don't get a reset in though that is usually my choice. It's tough to leave with the minimum guarantee each week as a saftey net but the increase in income that Wal-Mart would bring would be worth it. Rules are rules unless they are ridiculous but if that was the case people wouldn't be fighting to get in.

 

I don't remember the last time I made a major purchase The most would be a decent used car to get there and back from off time but that, at least, would be useful anyway. Going to have to go study my pretrip again and learn the names of the parts all over again. I know what to look at and what to look for but I'll be darned if I can remember the actual names of some of the parts.
