It won't break. Never seen one break before, beside the force is pulling from the side not down.OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.

Yes that is true.... And the side pull should be good for the rated 5,000lb at the strap winch. But your talking to a guy that usually deals with Tons not just a few thousand lbs at an anchor point. The Rigolet bridge is the largest movable bridge owned by CSX rail road. It weighs 1.7 million pounds, I find it odd a backwoods redneck hillbilly had more insight to what the future holds than 3 Engineers at corporate headquarters in Jacksonville.
Cummins_444 Thanks this. -
Which is a good one for coils?
-
Mac has a bad ### set up their coil packs, reitnour too. East makes another awesome trailer with a coil packMACK E-6 Thanks this.
-
Do all those have steel frame rails?
-
All aluminum

Im familiar with the welded chain every so far apart on the old Ravens from the 90's they had welded cap on the end of 4 links both ends. Pull em up, hook and set. Run more chain to the next one.
Compared to the old freuhaufs with the rail, I was so spoiled.
Aluminum frame is what you want. Steel Frame takes away the amount of coil you can load. I put a 52000 pound monster on my Ravens once at the mill in Gary. There were alot of people involved in that particular load as it was considered a maximum effort and that trailer, if it was going to fail it will do it with that coil.
I'll never forget that monster. All of the chains, all the straps went on, in through and over it. Everything. And the #### thing still wanted out. -
They make all aluminum with beefed up frames, hybrids with steel frames and aluminum decks, and all steel

If I was hauling nothing but big singles I would want a Mac.
Bean Jr. Thanks this.
