I've done dozens of Costco loads out of Morris, and many Crown loads out of Worland.

Crown is very easy, although it is a long way in and out. Don't leave from there if you have less than 4 hours on your clock.
But unless it is muddy it is one of the easiest and quickest shippers I've been to. I really wish they would pave that lot.

 

First quote will always come at the Swift rate - not including the loyalty kicker ... so it will tend to be a penny or two per mile low.

 

Even after 52 loads in one year no one said a peep about a loyalty kicker. And 8 to 12% was far, far more than a penny or two. When I would respond to a rate quote with what Swift would pay it would result in a slight adjustment or nothing at all. Their brokers are paid commission and I had a greedy one. Command lost the services of me and my truck because of Jose Garcia and the complete lack of interest in my concerns by Michael Zamost.

 

Lancaster back to Laredo, then back to Lancaster again

So much for the trip back to Lancaster, the load of Freightliner parts coming in for delivery to Memphis was cancelled this morning. I never thought I would see such a thing. Fudge it, home time for doctor is set for Saturday anyway. I really don't expect much to be happening freight wise in Laredo with tomorrow being Cinco de Mayo.

Lead driver wants me for a Feld run Sunday. So I managed to get some backstage tickets to motocross. I brought him a comdata card after his wallet got stolen at the Orleans.

Deliverd at bakemark. Not bad.

 

The loyalty I was referring to was the half cent bump Swift gives us each year for, I think, 4 years.

 

Yuma, AZ holed up in The Comfort Inn (across the street from the J). Been living in my new truck since last Friday and since it's over 100 here I said enough.

After 3 weeks short of a year I quit Duncan & Son without notice. Finally had enough of the longshoreman's CRAP and Duncan's total disregard for my time.

I found a job with a small (70 trucks) regional based in Englewood, CO called Quality Logistics. So far I REALLY like what I see. No BS and they are not afraid to spend money. They pay by the odometer mile AND pay for EVERY stop that doesn't originate in their yard. I grossed over $900 for a 3-day Denver-Las Vegas round trip with 3 drop-n-hooks and 1 live load, they call that 4 stops.

Tomorrow I pick up a load in Goodyear headed back to Denver after a reset at home. They went to a broker to find something that would work for me after my last stop today in Yuma.

When's the last time Swift called a broker to get you a load home?
