Your not going to blow over. If you feel safer doing 45 perhaps you should stick to secondary roads versus running 45 on the interstate and toll roads.

 

Oh, stay out of Wyoming since you can't handle wind.

 

You said they do this when traffic is free flowing.

Traffic is not free flowing when you come up on a 45mph road block in the right lane with little to no warning.

A truck coming down the highway at 65 is going to close the gap at your back door, well pretty #### quickly. If that truck has 4wheelers hanging out next to it in the hammer lane, you are causing the entire slow lane to go even slower.
Now everyone behind you just closed the gap in no time flat. 10 trucks behind the guy at your back door doesnt know whats going on, all he knows is hes doing 35 in in a 65 when the truck 9 trucks in front wasnt preparing for a slowdown and caused a huge ############ behind him.

Your actions are hardly being safe if you are impeding traffic.

That said, if 100 trucks pass you in any given stretch and they are all loaded to gross, so wind has little effect. And your empty at net, throw on them 4 ways and give plenty of waning when you absolutely have to drive a reduced speed.
If you have a radio, get on it and give a verbal warning too, everything you can do too warn approaching traffic. Thats being safe in an unsafe situation.

Not doing anything is far more dangerous than giving a little warning, or a lot of warning.

 

Stay out of the hammer lane jacka$$!

 

Maybe they're looking for you to blow back at them, err yeah, whatever.

 

The airhorns directed at you is helping, its alerting you, that you are being unsafe. You had enough sense to come here and ask why.

Drive with the flow of traffic, if thats still too fast, tuck in behind a Prime truck keeping 4-6 seconds behind and enjoy the ride.
