Pretty sure I saw this truck several times on I-10 'tween Houston and New Orleans. Don't think there were two like that!
I always crossed it, never came up on it traveling the same direction, where I could really check it out. In the late '70s the Pete hood was faded black, and the F'shaker cab looked to be a gray primer, if my memory serves me right. I'd still like to get a close-up, wonder whatever became of that old rig?

Here's the ATDS truck. I remember that truck. Long time ago.

I remember, many years ago at a truckstop or shop somewhere some guy had a cabover and moved the cab back and attached a hood to it. You talk about a freakish-looking thing. Ugly as sin.

That looks very similar to the one I saw! What a hideous monstrosity.

International made the Emeryville in a cabover, and added a hood to it to make a conventional.

Yeah but that IH still looks OK; that abomination above it is just too FUGLY to be allowed! Besides the horrendous looks, why would you want to make a truck like that? The FrankenLiner in the steel, and Hallloween is still a week away!

You took the words out of my mouth ... that is the fugliest truck I have ever seen. It reminds me of the mantra I had everybody repeating at another place I worked, "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should." :biggrin_2554:

sad thing about this truck is they eventually sold it and the guy took the big bunk off, shortened the fram and painted it white. it's still running around and it's okay but nothing like it was. if you ever saw the interior of this truck you'd know it was the finest big bunk cabover ever

Now, why in the hell would someone do that? There weren't enough white cabin-overs out there he could buy without dismantling that one?
