I know this one well!Had to blindside there and true there is enough room but I had to back up next to a truck left with its lights on.Thankfully after few minutes he (I guess woke up hearing me swearing loudly) turned them off.

Or the engineers who dictated the placement of barriers, posts, hydrants, light posts etc etc etc do whatever they can to create obstacles for truckers through inadvertent ineptitude as they doodle on the parking lot blue prints.

Such incompetance is paid for 20 dollars a time (Cost of a old west coast mirror) and 20000 dollars jackpots when the front end is lost.

We should start a index online that racks up damage accumulating truckstop spaces for everyone to use in risk management as they decide where to park. Oh wait, no more truckstops? Awww...

Maybe a partial blind side at a couple deliveries in the last 5 years. Never in a truck stop for sure. One of the reasons I opted to pull tanks is I read the van guys do more of the messed up backing and your trailers are longer. That 5 foot shorter trailer I pull makes a huge difference getting in places. But even with a shorter trailer, blind side backing is a no no for me. Just personal preference.

Don't kid yourself! Tanker yankers have their share of fun.
It doesn't matter what type of trucking you do, there will be times that give you heartburn.

Still my favorite for the worst parking lot design I've seen:

That was something my trainer taught me first time I drove OTR. Those are words to live by.
