Another thing to worry about as a newbie... I mentioned before getting enough quality sleep is a concern of mine.
Listen to what he says at 10:00 in to about 10:30. If that happens frequently i don't see how i could sleep knowing that in the back of my mind someone is going to bang on my truck and give me a heart attack.

Keep in mind, some drivers like to dramatize everything when in fact it's not that way at all. If it's so bad, they would have already quit or would be sleeping instead of trying to be YouTube movie stars. Some trucking companies now don't tolerate YouTube on company time and fire drivers every day for that.Kyle G. Thanks this.

And that is one reason I NEVER shut down at a shipper or receiver while waiting for a dock.
I plan my time better than that.
A couple days ago I was sent a pplan that would have required me to get to the receiver and do a split with 8 hours off before the delivery time.
No way I would do it. I turned it down 3 times before they finally got the message that I would NOT take the load.
I was sent a better load; the one I currently have.
This guy is all over the place because, I imagine, he never gets enough good sleep.
And that is probably because he doesn't plan the trip correctly to allow for it, and puts up with planners that abuse him and push him into doing hard runs.
Another reason is that he spends so much time filming himself for videos.
He mentioned Swift right at the beginning, so maybe he works for Swift.
So do I, and for the past 6+ years.
I am still here after that long because they have been good to me, for the most part.
There have been times when they tried to push me, but those were few.
One reason is because I refuse to be pushed beyond a certain limit.
Before I accept a load I make sure I can do it in MY time frame. I do that by pre-planning the trip before I respond to it. I never take a load based on the pplan I am sent because there are too many variables that the system does not take into account.
And we are given options that allow me to do this. There is no real forced dispatch at Swift.
If you plan your trips correctly, that will never happen to you. -
Anybody who starts his video with, "what's goin' on y'all it's yo' boy..." pretty much loses all credibility right off the bat in my book.
You have got to stop following these youboob clowns. Of the hundreds of YouTube truckers out there spouting gibberish into the camera all day, there are maybe four that are worth listening to, in my opinion. -
Some people likes to exaggerates gives him extra time on his video.Sure customers or drivers will knock on your sleeper but not bang.Now if you're at a truckstop blocking someone from getting out then yes be ready for an angry trucker.I'm guilty of waking a driver up by pounding on the sleeper part because he's blocking me in and more then once too and it made my day.Were talking like 1:00 am.You follow the truck driver rules and you'll be fine.Chinatown Thanks this.

I don't follow anybody on youtube i watch a ton of videos of a bunch of different truckers. I let the bs go in one ear and out the other and take the good info snippets they have. A lot of them come off as jokers but they all have some good advice here and there.

From what i gather from his older videos he explians he gets to the shipper/reciever way early and sleeps there to get more miles for the week.

I watched the first 15 seconds and realized I was not gonna learn one thing for the whole rest of the video. Of course I am a super trucker with two years experience. If there's anything you need to know just message me.
