Never use a reman clutch. New allways. I have put in remans that never left the shop. I refuse to install them for customers. Never have installed one in my trucks.

It's a older Detroit the new eaton easy pedal won't work because they need more surface on flywheel that's the reason I used mid America rebuilt I called there tech support they said clutches are balanced on high end machines before being shipped there thoughts are flywheel was cut wrong

If the discs are?installed out of orientation it wont be a balanced unit anymore...their are marks on the 2 discs, intermediate plate, and pressure plate that have to be aligned for it to be balanced. It may have got installed with them out of place?

Yes there were marks on the plates with blue paint from factory we matched the marks . I called the clutch manufacturer twice they believe it's a flywheel problem they said it could be two things either flywheel machined incorrectly or bolts holding clutch to flywheel not reaching all the way .

I have used many Mid America clutches. They are a good company. Not saying you can never have a problem. The easiest thing before you pull it is to put shorter pressure plate mounting bolts in it. You can turn the engine and replace them through the inspection hole. Would a disc turned the wrong direction and or in the wrong place not also bo a possible cause.

Its not fun but if you think ots the flywheel, drop the trans and clutch and start it to see of vibration is there. That would eliminate it.

That's what we will do this weekend I drove the truck for a couple of hours loaded today shifts beautifully smooth easy pedal no slipping at all only problem vibration shudder at 1000 rpm and 1500 even in neutral and when in gear at that rpm over 1500 no shudder

If there is a vibration in gear stopped, then it's not the clutch discs, they would not me moving. Get a thin feeler gauge and see if you can slip it between the flywheel and where the pressure plate mounts against it. I have run into problems when a flywheel was surfaced, they left a lip on the edge, so the pressure plate would not seat flat on the flywheel. Spicers have a little chamfer there to clear a small lip because most cutters won't get into that corner all the way.

Update: Finally I couldn't wait till the weekend we dropped the gear box again and put in the new flywheel it did nothing same vibration, then we ran it only with the wheel no vibration so I called the shop that sold me the rebuilt clutch and explained and after a long talk they agreed on taking it back for refund. I went to the Peterbilt dealer and picked up a new eaton easy pedal clutch and guess what it runs like brand new no vibration at all god bless lesson learned no more rebuilt clutches
