The immigrants drive truck because its a decent living for what little it takes to get a license, those arriving without any skill set. Immigrants are not to blame for our low wages. Some immigrants may work at a discount but the industry has not kept up. There are plenty of OTR jobs available in Canada. My first steady highway run in 1980 paid .23 per mile, fast forward 37 years and the math is obvious. When you get out there it won't be long before you have a day where you are reminded you have never put in so many hours for so little pay.
Good luck. Hope you find the right company when you complete your course.

    and enjoy the long weekend

    not4hire and Garththomas Thank this.
