Monroe warranty on gas shocks was at the last time I checked was 200 k. Why replace them at 100k?
-
It's (2) two years or 200k miles, whichever occurs first.
Most Shocks on Commercial Vehicles start losing their effectiveness at or before 100k miles, and not all Trucks are driven 100k miles a year, some more, some less. -
I've always thought Monroes rode nicer.

At just over 100k I have changed my shocks out on my 2016 Volvo 780. Initially I decided to go with replacement Volvo ones. I replaced the steer and sleeper shocks first, but after only two weeks one sleeper shock failed. The Volvo branded ones are made in Mexico. Having not experienced Gabriel before I have decided to try theirs on the drives, trailer and now on the sleeper. On removing the drive shocks we discovered 2 had failed, not leaking but dampening resistance had failed. A little disappoint to see the Gabriel's are made in Mexico. Monroe I know are made in the USA.

I hope you returned the failed Sleeper Cab Shock to the Volvo Stealership so they can refund your money.
I just purchased OEM Volvo Cab Shocks from Volvo because the Gabriel Fleetline I had installed came apart at the Shock Eye.
The Bushing came out of the Shock Eye and the Metal Sleeve came out of the Bushing
I called Gabriel Customer Service and they told me they don't Warranty Shocks, that I need to go through the Vendor I purchased it from as depending on who the Vendor is, they give deep discounts to them and in return the Vendor determines the length of the Warranty.
I purchased mine through Amazon which the Vendor is called Happy Motoring aka www.justsuspension.com
I emailed them twice last month and they send a canned message back stating they would get back to me as soon as they can.
I still never heard back from them and if you call their phone number, it just redirects you to fill out their email request for Customer Service on their website.
I won't buy Gabriel Shocks again, piss poor Customer Service and they don't back up their products.Last edited: May 18, 2017

I've been using Gabriel Gas SLX shocks on the softest setting, I like them (I guess), they seem to take some of the edge off the crappy roads around here.
