Wait a minute, Amos, the Famous. Were you not tooting the J.B. horn not long ago? I seem to remember that you were referring to J.B. bashers as "liars" in one of your posts, although you yourself had worked for them and quit 'em. I wondered why that was the case. What happened? Did you wake up from a dream sleep?

Good luck to you both at Maverick. Don't know why that company didn't pop into my head when I was answering flatbed company questions for some folks earlier. Guess I didn't know they were a training company. Keep your mind open and your attitude positive, and you will be happy there. I have loaded beside several of Maverick's drivers, Professional and great securement of the load. My hat is off to them.

well, good luck to yall at maverick. i've been working for them since the end of June and they are SO MUCH better to work for than my last 2 companies (swift and jb) and even though i am still a rookie flatbedder, i just want to throw a little piece of advice to yall, if you arent sure or arent comfortable use an extra strap or extra chain... a load can never be "oversecured".

    NukedNative Thanks this.

So true, creeper. So true. I have seen flat beds loose loads all over the highway in a light avoidance manuver. Too little securment. But Most impressive was a Roehl truck in a devistating accident bringing the truck to a dead stop from highway speed in 30 yards. Coils of steel properly sucured didn't move an inch. One set of two straps buckled the spine of the trailer, but the load didn't shift.
There is no such thing as to much securement, If I have a strap or chain left, and someplace I can put it on the load, I do every time. I WILL NOT LOSE A LOAD, EVER!!! I refuse to allow it to happen. That is the only attitude to have in this buisiness. Good luck to you.

I spoke to a recruiter a few days ago and faxed all the necessary paperwork in yesterday. I'm hoping it doesn't take too long to get in.
