Unless you have one of Mac's,Reitnour's or anyone else who make the aluminum j-hooks then the rub rails are the only option.

I don't see trailers with chain ties or d rings much anymore
-
Right. All the flatbedders I see use the rub rails to wrap the straps or chains. Those chain ties or J hooks are on your steel hauling Covered wagons and Conestoga equipped trailers these days.

I'm will to bet good money you can't produce a regulation, from the green book, that says anything to that affect.Gunner75, ChaoSS and BigTennOTR Thank this.
-
Why cant you run every coil like shot gun style?
-
Because the receiver specifies based on their handling methods.Bean Jr., Orangees, passingthru69 and 3 others Thank this.
-
I find that ignorant honestly...like when i worked at a plastic injection company...we had 40k molds you could spin with the crane.....would think they would be the same way
-
Look I'm not defending the reasoning only pointing it out. That being said not everyone who takes coils is setup like your factory.Bean Jr., snowman_w900, Lostkeys and 3 others Thank this.

Some places unload from the side with a big forklift. Some places use an overhead crane. Most of the coils I've hauled always specify at receivers request.
snowman_w900, passingthru69, Oxbow and 1 other person Thank this. -
Im not being rude towards you lol...just saying i find it ignorant....only way to pick up one is a crane right?? The crane head just needs to be able to spin..dont think its a huge expense...lol
