Looking for a school under 3K

Keep calling them. I notice they have an email you might wanna try that.

 

Just find a company sponsored training program..most require 6 months to a year driving at a reduced rate.
You'll need a year experience to get to 40 cpm anyway.
Some schools will take your money and not actually get you the cdl.

 

Here in AL we have a few community colleges that will train you for free providing your income is real low, or else its like 3,000 to 3,500 for 6 weeks. I know you re in AZ but was just throwing it out there

 

@bigkev1115 , I just started at Bevill State in Sumiton and it's less than $1500 for six weeks and inludes drug test and physical.

 

Many companies will reimburse your tuition to you. So, whatever you spend on tuition, you can get it back if you hire on with the right company.

 

Choose wisely for your first trucking job.

 

Remember you get what you pay for, if you go to a company sponsored school say like Swift, you will be an indentured servant for a couple years. If this is ok then go for it. Most of the cheaper schools, "except community colleges", really just give you enough to pass a test. At our school here in Oregon we only use a 53ft trailer because this is reality trucking, it is most likely what you will pull in real life. A 28ft is easier for testing, but you do not have the skills needed to get into the real world. As far as the cost, you don't realize how much it costs to run a school. Overhead is crazy. It cost me $100,000 just to get set up before the first student. Figure payroll, taxes, insurance, rent, purchasing trucks, repairing the trucks, it goes on and on. Just saying a very low cost school may be cutting corners, so you don't get the best training. Good luck, Hope this helps some. david
