I've done better than sprinklers and lights, done enough fixn' in my short career, so I know a lot about the issue.
I have only seen one true issue of ECM burnout and that was with a 5kw amp that was poorly installed in a pickup truck, and it didn't burn out the truck's ECM, but the motorhome's that sat next to it.
Does Texas Star DX 1600V damage my Peterbilt 379's computer or alternator?

Instead of messing with the alternator why not just add like 2 to 4 more batteries amd stick them under the bunk?
Or a supercapacitor if you have big money.
Also, DO NOT PUT THE ANTENNAS ON THE MIRRORS OR ANYWHERE NEAR THE FRONT, put them in the back or on the trailer. If you put your antenna on the driver side mirror and use even just 500 watts prepare for #### to randomly stop working.
Heck, if you stick your stick on the back of your trailer then you could run as much power as you want. Be sure to use lmr400 or something like that as rg8x will leak rf thrpugh the sheild. Lmr400 is double sheilded.
