Why on earth would anyone want that config?cke Thanks this.
-
Eliminates tailswing, and the inherent weakness behind the axles when loading heavy things over the rear.DDlighttruck, passingthru69, TripleSix and 2 others Thank this.

To me that makes as much sense as cutting off my feet to save buying shoes. If I'm going to load a 40K coil at the back of the trailer a 48 spread would do just fine.cke Thanks this.
-
I guess, opinions vary. I like them that way.
-
Can I ask then, what you load on that trailer that makes it worth the hassle of it being illegal everywhere and trying to turn it.cke Thanks this.
-
It's perfectly legal in Ohio, I drag a 53' tri axle lowboy everyday and spent plenty of time with a 57' tri axle beam so I guess I'm used to it.DDlighttruck, passingthru69, cke and 2 others Thank this.

I don't get to OH much. Your trailer must have what....44 ft to the center of the spread and 49 to the rear axle and that's legal in OH?
I drag a 53 double drop with a 72" spread all the way back so I get the idea. Illegal everywhere don't pull it unless we need it. -
We have a 53' DD for a particular piece of crane boom. Interesting pulling so say the least
johndeere4020 and rank Thank this. -
Gotta watch for RR tracks and turning onto roads with high crowns huh?cke Thanks this.
