I'm not sure if this has been covered before but here goes.. I just opened my new TND740, connected to my apartments wi-fi and tried to register.. it keeps popping up with a "registration failed" message try your connection again. As far as I can tell I am connected to my wi-fi at 65 mbps but I can't get past the registration error message. Any advice you be much appreciated since I'm heading out early Monday morning for a Denver run.

Does your apt have a "welcome" or log in screen? If so the 740 will not get past that since it has no browser abilities.

    Thanks

If still construction then HERE will keep them as a valid exit/on ramp. It is considered construction on regards to any map company.

    Thanks,

Not that I'm aware of, I have google fiber. It looks like its connected just fine to my internet it just won't leet me register. :)
Update: I've connected to another wi-fi spot, I can get it to show weather, traffic etc from the live update option it just won't let me register. I'll try calling customer service during the week. if they can't help I'll send the unit back. I've still got my TND 730.

Nope i finally figured it out its not the Blue tooth, its not the charging. IT the NOTIFY WHEN PUBLIC WIFI is available. if the notify is on you get these annoying chimes. turn it off and all is quite.

    tow614 Thanks this.

A lot of times if you have a "accept" screen you will show connected to the Router, just not the Internet.

A phone or Tablet you will not see this.

    Thanks,
    Mark

Does this mean it cannot be connected to wife at pilot/flyingj to do updates since there is a sign in page in order to connect.

Correct, most public Wi-Fi's have an "Accept" screen which you have to log in or "Accept" the terms and conditions. The 740 has no browser capabilities so it cannot get past this "Accept screen".

    Thanks,
    Mark
