I highly doubt you were the first trucker to walk thru and I highly doubt it was dangerous.

Im sorry, it was. It was a farmland plant for hogs up in what I would call Rhineland area up in MN. The workforce inside the plant was totally foreign. I was the only white man on that floor and happened to be visiting the loo when everyone was coming in changing out between shifts. It was NOT a friendly place up there. I stared every one down to a certain point until I was off that floor and back on the dock. I'll be the judge on what's friendly or not friendly in situations like that. Most of the time plant workers don't mind drivers coming through. I remember a Baltimore Oscar Meyer Plant where some of the upper floors had local workers who were pretty happy. But the tables and machines with meat around them on the floor indicating no time taken for cleanup possibly caused me to not purchase lunch meats for a while. No problems there. Or most places. Several places like Guiness Ale in Rochester hold on to the Irish nationality rather excessively. There were a time English forces occupied their cities and they engaged in terrorist type war with the English. They did not mis treat me too much but I made sure that I was not too welcome there what with my accent and nationality by ancestry. It's as shame. A little crack pot crazy if you ask me. Fortunately that calmed down over the decades as we continued to load out of there once a year or three. It's useful when you have a load of that stuff going to the deep southwest for 2500 paid miles or something good. You don't stay around longer than needed to load and go.

And in Kansas, In Texas And so forth. The truth is ordinary Americans normally do not take such jobs when you can get a bunch of Migrants to do it cheaply. Unfortunately when you get enough of them onto a plant floor, they tend to bring the mother country to work with them. It aint America on that floor anymore.

In so much we take in Immigrants in a big melting pot since our Founding not all of them will Americanize. I consider myself a minority these days unfortunately for a variety of reasons.

I was at a place one time and saw a few drivers chatting and laughing,so I joined in. One of them was a real cool black man that was at least in his 70's and still driving. He was dressed neat and clean. What they were laughing about was the receiver has a "no-drivers in restroom" policy and had been rude to the black guy about it. He walked outside and pooped on the steps to the entrance of the warehouse. Drivers were warned about the mess so they wouldn't step in it. No one snitched on the guy either, because he did what many drivers just threaten to do.

    Ahhh yes...
At any given moment in California there is a driver sitting in his truck on a 100 degree day who cannot idle and has to poop with no access to a restroom. Gonna be a mighty fine unload....yes, mighty fine.

This is a reblog, but Tom Hardy gets to be reblogged_.gif

You're a mere truck driver. Your only responsibility is to be seen and not heard OR smelled.
