That's right. Its a free market, just like any other industry in the US. The good profit is there if your good enough to find and earn it.

So what is possible pulling their van? Can a guy do $3 to 3.5 thousand a week? (gross). More than that? Or is that not going to happen? I applied there and got a message that they have my references back and are "ready to move forward" whatever that means. I looked at the load board about 6 years ago but it is just a snapshot and I'd like to know from a BCO what ballpark revenue I can do. I understand if you don't want to post your business on here, and if you pm me, I won't blab it around. I just don't want to change carriers blindly if I can help it.

You mean $3-3,500 net, right? Because after fuel and other deductions, it doesn't leave you with much. Have you signed up for the Landstar load board demo? You should check it out.oicu812 Thanks this.

Yes easily, I gross around 4500-5000 pulling van, I'm back on a skateboard now bc that what I prefer, however I'm down for last three weeks and got two more weeks to go before I can drive again. I was hit by a driver in a truck stop in Altoona, Iowa, waiting for my truck repairs and down time from the company that hit me. It's driving me up the wall bc I've looked at all the flat loads recently and I am missing out on them lol.oicu812 and The Boss Lady Thank this.

I used to be with L.Star untill I left, got my own authority, got a reefer, found a couple good brokers and since then which has been 3 yrs I've done excellent double my income within the first few months of leaving LS and have built a great working relationship with the main refrigerated shippers I Haul for. The average rate per mile not including FS is $2.02 per and that is as of January 2017. Dry van is just too flat and over saturated.drvrtech77, The Boss Lady and HopeOverMope Thank this.

Landstar has gone down the drain, been with them for over 10 yrs, tons and tons of cheap freight mostly brokered freight that has been traded off a thousand times between their buddies....u can pay your bills at landstar but u won't get rich here....

Sounds like rubbish. Im doing great off the boards -
If you're doing great FLFrenchie, we all must be wrong, go figure. Thanks for the insight and correcting us all. Go Frenchie!

Why isn't your insurance paying for the repairs right now and then going after the other company for reimbursment?
-
They
they paying repairs and I already have my truck back insurance doesn't cover downtime though. So I'm shopping lawyers right now to sue them for down time and expenses.
