People can do all the twisting they want when you have a week's worth of logs as backup.

See, I like the idea of an electronic log app on my smartphone/tablet. It's driver editable and as far as I know it's DOT/FMCSA compliant. Best of both worlds.

It isn't compliant if it's not tied to the ECM. They need something to compare it to, or the whole purpose is defeated.

i can tell you that the drivers wage is larger than the company's profit margin when its all said and done. what the driver gets paid is probably the second largest single cost of running a truck next to fuel. may even be more than fuel in certain operations. but yet all the driver wants to do is piss and moan about how bad it is, when someone else put up all the money the risk gave them a job to hopefully (no guarantee) put a little money back in there pocket. a driver goes to work they make money that day, the owner could loose thousands in a single day.

btw my whole last post was side tracked by just a couple posts

as far as hours of service goes, know your limits don't let anyone push you when your tired in the end as a driver you are the captain of the ship, its your responsibility to drive it safely, if your tired or out of hours shut it down and go to sleep.
