sorry about being blunt on the last post and I hadnt finished reading yet, I think anyone can drive but the problem is once DAC/USIS has something on it about you then its VERY VERY VERY VERY difficult but no impossible and if its a minor incident you had try talking to the companies about it they may be able to work with you. My problem in getting employment is not the minor incident I had its the fact I was terminated from my last trucking job, the large companies with the exception of a few have a clause that they wont touch you till you got back into a truck for 6 months and not gotten fired.
Been terminated. Now what?

The question you need to ask yourself next time (yes, there can be a next time, if you work for it) is what is more embarrassing? Getting out a hundred times and pulling up to try again just as many times or rolling the trailer over the hood of some car? Don't worry about what those around you might be thinking, since you will most likely never see them again anyway. You do what you have to do safely and to hell with those that are pinheaded enough to give you a hard time. If it's a matter of a line of trucks behind you and you're worried about them getting irate, see if you can go last so you don't have an audience. Or maybe you could go up to the one laughing the loudest and say, "Okay, Billy Bigrigger, I know I need practice, why don't you teach me?".

I use to work with a few "super truckers" who did no wrong, every time you turn around they had torn up a trailer, but it just so happens " it was like that when I got it" hang in there everyone makes mistakes.
Its what you learn from them, thats whats important.

the next to last company I worked for, I bumped up against another company's trailer at a shipper (the trailer was in the way and I couldn't back up.) the "safety" guy called me and said the shipper called them to complain (after a switcher who saw me turned me in - maybe he could've moved the freaking trailer?!?!) they mercilessly gave me a ration of manure for NOT evening scuffing the other companys trailer! I quit that same week. I've never had an accident or put so much as a smudge on a trucker, trailer or anyone's property.
as a contrast, one of the "trainers" I had admitted to falling asleep, and then plowing into the back of someone's car!!! and he was still working for them!!! as a TRAINER!!! go figure -
BJAYMO3, Keep trying to find another position it will be hard with that history. Check your DAC see what they put on it. More training may be required don`t turn it down if offered

I hate to tell you, Jamestown, but with all the thousands of trucking companies that have gone under, thousands of truckers will be looking for work. companies are going to pass right over the pile of apps with 3 months experience and a page full of accidents to the experienced drivers with clean driving records. if you were in the company's position, what would you do?
