@Chinatown, we're still deciding on options.
Do the companies you've suggested run the northeast? I'd like to avoid that if possible.
Also, it turns out that Forward Air will require me to have 1 year of experience. So we're revisiting the options. He wouldn't mind leaving FA temporarily, or even permanently if the new company treats us right.
So, here's a rundown of what I'd like. Of course, I don't expect a perfect score for any company.
- Hires from Atlanta, GA area.
- Hires recent grads. Bonus: hires owner operators so fiance can join too. Would like to run team with him.
- Does not run northeast.
- No flatbeds or tankers. Reefers and dry vans ok.
- Planning on getting hazmat endorsement, so if that gives a bonus, then great.
- Pet policy (not a must, but would be nice).
We've got our eyes on Abilene, Freymiller and KLLM. Not sure on Covenant Transport. Still researching.

Try some of the team companies out of the Carolinas. The problem is, your finace is an 0/0 and trying to match everything with your preferences.
Try these:
Carolina Logistics
WLA Inc.
Hardy Bros. Inc.
Cedar Creek Trucking
Inman Trucking Co.
Palmetto State Transportation
If he can afford to park his truck for awhile and the two of you run teams with a company like Quest Global until you get some experience. They run California and back and are based in Georgia. Recently one of their recruiters offered to waive the 3 mos. experience requirement for another married couple that wanted to team. Don't know the results though.Last edited: May 23, 2017

I'll add your suggestions to the list we're looking into.Chinatown Thanks this. -
Quest is a good choice as it is near you in GA. NC has a bunch of team outfits that pay really well. Here are a few more:
Mountain River
Cooke
H&W
BCJ
Smith
Zenith
Carolina Southern

Thanks for all the suggestions. I've got a pre-hire letter from Covenant Transport, and I'll start CDL classes on June 12th.
