Are there any owner operators that are pulling tankers? I am thinking about buying a tanker that I cannot find much information, like load boards or O/O companies. I have my own authority, so I just want to buy a trailer and get to work.
    Thanks a bunch!

Not sure theres much owning your own tank.
Unless you find a dedicated product/customer.

That's kind of what I was wondering. If it's worth it to

I know there are certain chemicals once loaded in your tank will exclude you from hauling other certain chemicals no matter how many tank washes you have

Like slim shady said about dedicated product and customer. I'm a O/O leased on to a company pulling tanker. Been doing it since 2006. It's rough on a truck, heavy, and dangerous at times.

I would think the cost of the tanks is prohibitive. Also you have to wait each time for it to be cleaned, or haul.same thing over and over again.

Buying a tanker then looking for work does not sound like a good business plan to me. When it comes to finding work for my trucks I am not a bashful person. In the past I have gone to truck stops and asked drivers about their loads and equipment and what they think. Sure you get a lot of knot heads and the "I invented trucking attitude" but you get a LOT of great information. I would suggest visiting with those in the area you want to pull and see what they have to say.
Asking here on this forum is certainly a move in the right direction, but having a face to face with those actually behind the wheel is priceless.

Get a customer first... load boards don't really exist for tanks.....,
Most guys lease on, you can keep your authority active if you want, just work under their #s.

The easiest business to get in around here is pool water . The guys buy water from local municipalities and bring it to swimming pools . Mostly new but some top offs also.... Short hauls , you don't need a fancy trailer . I've done it the money is pretty good ....

    Or septic....

Forget chemical hauling, go try to price 5 mil pollution coverage....
