Even though I work for a company that maintains its stuff to a very high level and have never gotten dinged on anything during any inspection, ever, I always take the week off.

I refuse to participate. Guess I won't be getting a trophy lol one of the benefits of getting in with a good company and sticking around to build seniority and get several weeks vacation.

Plenty of places already were ramping up last week anyway in an effort to catch the ones that are sitting out the week I'm guessing.

I ran all the way from Maine to Mississippi last week and Maine was probably the most active I saw last week of all places. Weigh stations and checkpoints were all open and all parking spots full with an SUV stationed at each spot and creepers out with a full court press on.

So I guess the point is missed here. It's not about getting the inspection or passing it. My stuff as well is maintained as I lease all my equipment so passing wouldn't be an issue. Plus I keep my stuff up and clean as well. All my maintenance is covered by the mechanics where I lease from. the point here is of the HARASSMENT that we recieved as if we have broken some law and it's also the time that we lose during these stops. There is plenty of other things on the roads that are unasfe example people driving drunk, people overdosing on pills and herion and driving along the roads, and pickup trucks pulling things they should never be pulling in the first place. Cars and other vehicles with improperly inflated tires or riding on may pops or the bumpers flapping in the wind as they are driving. No turn signals speed on excess of 80-90 cars and pick ups and kill innocent people as well. But here We are minding our own business maintaining the proper speed limit and we get pulled to the side. You when it comes to Stopping cars you have to have a reason. But Stopping a semi you need no reason what so ever but just to do it. If you guys appreciate the way things are done with this mess then we are pitiful in our line of work. We are never going to get our word across. Also when I say strike. It's not like a stop trucking all together strike. We stop during these 3 days then they start to get the point when there is nothing to inspect maybe they can go out and focus on the real dangers and crimes not on the truck or truck driver who's trying to feed his family. Just saying and yes there is some trucks out there that has no business being on the road! But usually they are the ones who slip by and never get caught

Scale in my area was open the other day. I almost drove around it then noticed trooper lurking at exit. Went on by scale and it was closed. They were pulling in a few trucks at a time then closing it to comb over em.

DOT man don't bother me. Papers in order, truck is in order he has nothing to cite. See you later driver. Thank you. Bye.

A good day. Blitzes? Ha. bring it.

Why do I say stuff like that?" Well it's simple. I rarely got inspected over the years and when they did, they usually found something or nothing. If everything is in order then I am doing good.

The only angry people in my life is the dispatcher who cannot understand why Im sitting in the sleeper a hour out from a customer. He's had approx 16 hours to get a relief tractor rolling my way to get that load and pay me interchange at that point plus miles. Don't blame me for failing to act on that knowledge. A team could have taken that trailer from 1000 miles anywhere in the USA in 16 hours and delivered same. (Generally 8 hours prior to end of my 10 when I tell dispatch I aint got the hours to make appointment and the time lost in the sleeper waiting to get legal to deliver. Dispatcher has the information with at least that many hours to act upon it. Generally they do nothing.

Guess for some reason they must be picking on you. I have never been HARASSED, by any LEO since I been driving. Well, I take that back, in my younger days I was in the Low Rider seen, I would get harassed because of my small tires and hydraulics. But that was a probable cause to get pulled over. I got over that seen. Anyways.....like I mentioned earlier, cough up an attitude and you might get harassed or a probable cause to get inspected. We have guide lines we must follow and so do the LEO. If you have an issue with one, "Report then" , it goes on the record permanently.

I've never been stopped on roadside in the past 5 years. Once again. It's nothing about them inspecting me in general. I never show attitude with them as I respect the job of law enforcement. However, I think they have went overboard with all this inspecting and pulling truckers at random. They aren't pulling you to tell you Thank you, or to tell you how much you do for this country. Instead they are pulling you to try and find a problem with you or your equipment or both. But yet, we are expected to pay more taxes out on the highway than any other vehicle traveling out there and then we are told you can only use these two lanes to travel in. We should be allowed in whatever lane we want no matter if it's 10 lanes of travel with the amount of money we pay. You pay fuel tax, IFTA. 150 bucks a quarter. (Every 3 months) 550.00 heavy road tax each year. food tax varies state to state. Then you buy from truck stops and have to pay the 3 dollars more for stuff than you would typically pay if you was at the smaller shops which you can't get your truck into. Now that got this pay to park crap! Have you Ever noticed the fuel price at the truck stop to be 2.80 per gallon. Then you look across the street at the little C-Store that you can't fit your truck into and the fuel price there be 2.35. Think about it driver. Are you just that stinking blind to see what's going on around you?? Truckers are treated like dirt bags that are looked down upon and are treated unconstitutional each and everyday. You think what you want to you have that right. But you need to see what's really going on. Whatever happened to the days of having each other's backs.

I remember years ago as a kid that Ohio State patrol used to randomly set up car inspection stations and issue tickets to cars with the most minimal issues. They ended up phasing this out due to several prominent state employee family members getting high tickets

Yeah, that's what I'm saying they know this mess is ridiculous. Something needs to get their attention again to show them. You have got to have these trucks in order for this country to continue to roll. Otherwise trucks can stop and people can get in their vehicles and go load their own goods they purchased and haul it around. A train can only get so close to the stores!
